I don't get it.
---------------------------------------- Because I don't get any WUs for Dengue2.  What's wrong?  Requirements are: Memory 1,024 MB Disk 250 MB My Laptop (XP) says: 10/27/2010 13:08:03||Preferences limit memory usage when active to 1522.65MB 10/27/2010 13:08:03||Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 1522.65MB 10/27/2010 13:08:03||Preferences limit disk usage to 18.63GB My two i7 Wintels (Vista64) have much more oomph in just about every aspect: Nothing!! What I do get is this: 10/27/2010 18:08:45|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work sent 10/27/2010 18:08:45|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 (Type A) 10/27/2010 18:08:45|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the website. 10/27/2010 18:08:45|World Community Grid|Message from server: (there was work but it was committed to other platforms) The thing with the "committed to other platforms" is a new one to me - never noticed that before. But I have been hunting Dengue 2 since it started, and have yet to make Silver. What's wrong with my setup that excludes me from this project? |

"committed to other platforms" means 1st copy of the WU has been sent out and its looking for the 2nd host with the same OS and CPU vendor.
----------------------------------------So if 1st copy is Windows/Intel then 2nd copy should be the same thus "Homogeneous Redundancy"   |

I'm sure that the people who know better will be along to correct me but I think that the "committed to other platforms" message means that your computer is set up ok to receive and process the work but the VERY few units that were available at that moment were being sent off to say a Mac. If you had happened to hit it a few seconds before or after you did you might have gotten a Windows unit. So the good news is that you are able to crunch Dengue units, the bad news is that on that pull of the jackpot handle you came up three lemons instead of three mosquitoes.  |
