hello,
i've check the option "If there is no work available for my computer for ...." but it doesn't work well.. i've a comptuter under linux and i've selected some work "clean energy" and "clean water" my second computer under Windows7 doesn't download work because these project are not compatible with Windows ! can you make evolve the network for send work in according to the computer who ask ? |

Hi, welcome to the forums,
----------------------------------------Can you please onen up BOINC Manager's message tab and scroll to the top and post 30 lines from there in a next post. Also, please scroll down to where it says that work is not send for X or Y reason and copy another 30 lines from around those messages. We will then have a look in understanding your setup a little. The 'If no work is available' option wasn't working for me either yesterday. I had Clean Water, Clean Energy, and DDDT2 checked along with the 'If no work' box. Got the following msgs:
8/24/2010 5:08:42 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work sent 8/24/2010 5:08:42 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for Computing for Clean Water 8/24/2010 5:08:42 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 8/24/2010 5:08:42 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work is available for Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together - Phase 2 (Type A) 8/24/2010 5:08:42 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2 is not available for your type of computer. 8/24/2010 5:08:42 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work available for the applications you have selected. Please check your settings on the website. I was going to post my problem but then I got it working. In My Projects I unchecked the 'If no work" box, saved, rechecked the box and saved again. Hit Update on the client and it downloaded work OK with these extra msgs: 8/24/2010 5:36:22 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: You have selected to receive work from other applications if no work is available for the applications you selected 8/24/2010 5:36:22 PM|World Community Grid|Message from server: Sending work from other applications I don't know what caused my problem or why this fixed it. I had added Clean Water to my selected projects yesterday but hadn't touched the 'If no work' box. Just wanted to share my problem/fix in case it helps resolve Gridained's problem. |

We have had some temporary interruptions where no work was available. We are working on that issue, but it is the likely reason for what you are observing.
