Re: Join The International Team

Hola team and Alejandro! :)

Thank you for presenting yourself. My name is Leo, I am 24 and study (almost done) at the local University. I live in Sweden and I studies some Spanish about 8 or nine years ago, so I don't remember much of it.

I study to Master in Computer Technology, so I love computers and hardware too - building, upgrading, overclocking, overvolting, undervolting, you name it :)

Great to have you in the team!

Re: Join The International Team

I can try Damon, but I do not have that much experience from server troubleshooting. What kind of problems are you having atm?

Re: Join The International Team

I've actually had 2 IT guys look at 2 of them and they're baffled. They won't restart unless someone is there to press "F1" to continue.
The 3rd one. I was using it just to crunch and was using an IDE drive as it won't communicate with the SCSI drives (they too small to be of use anyway) the drive failed, so I put in a new IDE but now I can't get it to load Server. I havn't tried a new cd drive yet, that could be the problem.

Oh, ok. So the "press F1 to continue" message. Does it say anything else like "CMOS checksum error" or "resetting CPU speed" or something like that?

I've had a similar issue where that message appeared and the BIOS settings were reset every time and it was the CMOS battery on the motherboard that was finished. After replacing it and reconfiguring BIOS settings it was running good again.

But have you checked that the IDE/SCSI settings in BIOS are ok. Maybe an IDE/SCSI channel you try to use is disabled or has some other inappropriate setting?

EDIT: Btw just to make sure... IDE jumper settings correct also? Master/Slave/CS?
