Re: Join The International Team

davwhite5xq7 , yes you seem to have a lot of work ahead :)

I thought I would get some time off during the weekend but it seems like I have to learn C# and WCF (Windows Communication Foundation). It is the latter part that seem to be the big time-consumer :)

Re: Join The International Team

Updating the servers is not as bad as I originally thought. A little time consuming, but not difficult. 5 down and 5 or so to go.

Re: Join The International Team

Great job, davwhite5xq7! Switching to Linux doesn't bring a big change in the amount of generated points. But you can see much more work done in the same time and it's more important than points.

@flodisar: I'm crunching only HCC for two weeks now. Two weeks before I got ruby badge for that, now I need just a weekend to finish emerald. And Linux more than doubles results on my home box. Unfortunately I cannot install it on my work PCs - they are still running Vista.

Re: Join The International Team

I've read a lot of discussions here about these performance differences between Linux & Windows. Linux compiler seems to be so much better than windows one, but nobody can give a really good explanaition.

Re: Join The International Team

Linux appears to be able to better process the math than Windowsl. I believe it has something to do with how the two deal with computations.

Did that already long time ago. I target 25 years on HCC before going to another project. I am at 20 now. Yesterday I improved my number of WU daily return max to 2'267. Not bad eh! wink
I should be back on Monday. See you smile
