Indeed every wu counts, right now on this cpu i can push out about 100 hours/50-70 results per day while still using it as my main gaming rig

Thanks Kjetil, I will give the PSU a worthy funeral (also salvaging some parts from it first).

Hello Team....glad to see some are still crunching.....I have news that I want to share.
It is with great sorrow that I inform you our Team Captain and founder of our team, JP; Jean Pierre Jost Ramerez, has passed away. He passed last week, 10/24/2017. He had been battling cancer for some time. I know how much crunching meant to him. That is why we crunch: to help find cures for some pretty bad diseases. Some day no one will die from cancer or these other illnesses. R.I.P Jean Pierre Jost Ramerez !!! I will keep in touch |

Thanks for your memory of JP. I know he was passionate about Crunching and one of the best things we can do is keep on Crunching. I also posted about JP in the Caring and Sharing forum. You may want to check it out. I'm sure others that knew JP may leave comments !!! PS. I hope to begin Crunching again but my current work will not allow me to do so. Thanks Chris, I found the post/thread in "Caring & Sharing" section and have also posted there. It was good to read all the comments there.
----------------------------------------You are right in that JP was passionate about crunching, and that the best thing to do to honour his memory and legacy is to keep on crunching. In times like these, I am at least glad that I stayed right here in the JP's team even after many had left to other teams. We must simply accelerate the crunching rate and the only way forward is new technology. A couple of weeks ago I just upgraded to a ThreadRipper machine with 32 threads to replace my old 12 thread Intel 3930K. It will serve well in this team to help keep it alive now that JP so sadly is not anymore. I hope that you'll be able to start crunching again soon Chris, and it would be very nice to stay closer in touch. ----------------------------------------Trying my best. This ThreadRipper machine has certainly set me back a bit financially, but I love this machine so far. Plan is to wait until Ryzen 2 family of CPUs are released in the beginning of next year and then upgrade my HTPC cruncher to something like an 8 core / 16 thread CPU (today it is an AMD 860K @ 4.3GHz, 4 core / 4 thread). I'm crossing my fingers crossed for you to be able to start crunching again too. Be well Chris!
