Alright, I have just returned my first results from my new PC!
----------------------------------------A fast analysis shows around 263 WCG points/hour of runtime which is a huuuge leap forward from my previous build landing somewhere around 147 points/hour. Right now I have achieved what seems to be a stable frequency of 4.4GHz and would go a little higher but I experience a strange "cold boot failure" from my motherboard when I use the x45 multiplier. It feels like some BIOS issue and I am waiting for a reply from their R&D department on news for some new bios or other fix. Also I have setup a 4GB RAM disk for Boinc and browser cache, trying that out to see if it is a go. Friday tomorrow, at last. This has been the first work week after the holidays and I tell you I can really feel it! Good night from Sweden folks! ![]() Join The International Team: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=CK9RP1BKX1 AMD TR2990WX @ PBO, 64GB Quad 3200MHz 14-17-17-17-1T, RX6900XT @ Stock AMD 3800X @ PBO AMD 2700X @ 4GHz |

Thanks!
----------------------------------------Good luck with the car work Jack (is it repair or clening?), I can only clean and change lamp bulbs (changed fuses once) in cars :) Thinking of the cache...with a RAM Disk...if PC hangs or BSODs (especially sine I am not finished with the OC yet..) or a power failure strikes...what will happen to the cache? Probably will be gone...so I will keep a low cahce to begin woth and evaluate the stability of the system first perhaps... Oh, I have to change my signature :) Btw, where do people get those oval widgets such as the one you have? ![]() Join The International Team: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team/viewTeamInfo.do?teamId=CK9RP1BKX1 AMD TR2990WX @ PBO, 64GB Quad 3200MHz 14-17-17-17-1T, RX6900XT @ Stock AMD 3800X @ PBO AMD 2700X @ 4GHz |

Hey team
----------------------------------------Congrats on ur new pc flodisar, sounds like some good output Had my FX-8120 running at 4.5GHz now for a while without a single hickup, c4cw tasks gets pumped out at a average of 1h 45m, adding 2-3 mins to that when running on all 8 cores. Sure is a sweet spot for this processor

Oh, I have to change my signature :) Btw, where do people get those oval widgets such as the one you have? Last thing first, there is a SNURK SIGNATURE thread (chat room I believe though not sure) and I'm not sure if he's taking new people on or not. (Thanks for mine though SNURK if your reading this I love it!) About your cache, I imagine if your on a RAM it would disappear, but they can always send out those units to other people if your computer dies/freezes etc. Perhaps a full day would be a good compromise? Up to you I disabled my RAM drive due to making this my main PC and I like to load games and mess around and have to restart occasionally. And the car, lol, we sound like we have same mechanical knowledge. I need to check air filter (some of the nuts of the housing are stripped so I told them not to worry about it when I got my oil changed) and I read in my manual that it may have a 'cabin' air filter I have never touched it in 3 years if it does.... GROSS Plus I have a check engine light more than likely related to the lack of coolant the other day (massive overheating remedied by more coolant). So I borrowed a code reader from a guy at work and have to find where it plugs into read the code and clear it. This will stretch my mechanical abilities to the breaking point, plus my patience. I'm just not going to pay a hundred bucks for a mechanic to tell me the car was hot, my wife already told me that for free when the gage went into the red zone.Oh and it's probably dirty but if I get everything else done, it can stay dirty it's FRIDAY! Oh and my other car has a 'change oil' notice. Well I just had it changed so I have to figure out how to clear it... I will say I'm grateful they still drive around, they get me to work so I can feed them gas, and I'm grateful we don't pay what you folks do in Scandanavia! Sorry for the long post, I haven't had enuf coffee to realize I was going on and on and on ![]() ![]() |
