Good Morning MOT! coffee coffee coffee

Good Morning Dave. Good to "see" you this morning. coffee coffee
Good Morning to all of MOT and passers-by. coffee coffee

In other news...I got 17 Beta work units on my Windows Machines and all were processed "Valid". I don't know if these were CEPII or something else, but something is going well. smile Film at 10. wink
Not sure why, but I never get any Beta work units. All projects are open and both profiles I use are open for Beta testing. I am pretty sure you are seeing a new project, by the way. Several are coming.

Dubby.. I had that same experience 17 on windows but none on Ubuntu (I have a quad, a dual and a singleton on Ubuntu). That is what got me to thinking they were testing CEPII for Windows but Dave is suggesting there is more behind the curtains. Interesting...My "Automatically include me in new projects" is checked. smile

Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 45smilesmile

Sorry to put 2 post's back to back but I was able to capture 3 Beta's only after deselcting all projects excpt Beta and increasing my cache. Did thid yesterday after reading in the statistic some 16,000 Betas had been reported day before and I had none of them. Perhaps my computers are the wrong type but I have from really old to i5"s and i7's so not sure what gives. In the support section I prior to checking my team postings possed the question about priority as over past month despite lots of WU's crunched a day over past 30 days of crunching per day or more not one Beta or DDD-2 sent to me. At the time I had either HFCC or HCMD-2 selected with always selected DDD-2 and Beta testing. Curious and perhaps bad timing on my computers part.

I can't say for sure but the number of times per day you check for new work could have something to do with it. When I am trying to catch something like Betas, I have it try perhaps 10 to 20 times per day.. ("0.1" or ".05"). (And I do not de-select my normal projects) It sounds like you meet all the qualifications as long as you have your account set to accept betas.

Given my experience, it seems to be a matter of having your machine ask for work at the time that they have betas available AND not having any other work to send to you at that moment. I'm not sure that last part is intended (or correct) but it fits what I've seen. I have my machines set to "Connect about every 0.00 days" since I have a DSL connection and "Additional work buffer" is normally 3.5 days. I have two profiles. The default profile has the projects I normally want aside from DDDT2. The second profile is just DDDT2 only. Both profiles are set to accept betas. On my quad, I run WCG only so since DDDT2 started, I normally have it set to the second profile for DDDT2 only and a larger work buffer than normal. That way, when DDDT2 hit, I try to grab what I can. Once a day typically, I reset the work buffer to normal and switch the profile to the default to keep a normal buffer of the regular WCG projects I'm crunching. Prior to starting this with DDDT2, I had gotten a total of four betas over the last couple of years that I had been signed up for betas. Since the start of DDDT2, I've gotten another 57 betas and am almost halfway to bronze. Not sure it's logical or correct but this is what I've done and my experience with getting betas.

Rej, I hope you can give us one more try. One thought I had - since Canadian French is you first language, write your post in that, then before posting, use babelfish.yahoo.com to get an English version that you can include with your original CF text. That would let you be more comfortable posting and give us English speakers a decent translation. It's a little extra work in return for hopefully feeling more comfortable posting. Just a thought.
