Re: HTTP error on upload

I have tried cycling/shutting down and restarting many times specifically for this issue with no success. My earlier uploads that exhibited this kind of problem would eventually get sent a few kb per attempt but the last three work units had one or two sections that would hang up and not proceed at all. I've aborted them and will try a new unit. I have WCG running on my wife's Intel MacBook and which connects wirelessly at her work with no apparent problems downloading or uploading.

Re: HTTP error on upload

Now every connection attempt with my G4 with dial-up, up or down, is met with an "HTTP internal server error" message so for next week or two I'm not going to try an new attempts.

Re: HTTP error on upload

Hello WCG
Attention: uplinger - WCG Tech

What's the latest status about this matter since your [May 25, 2010 11:00:42 PM] post?

My setup/machine have had occasional encounters with the matter, with no severe impact on my side in as much as the process works itself out albeit using more time than usual. For the benefit of those who may be severely impacted, they could use some update information (regarding the matter) from WCG Techs.

Good day

Re: HTTP error on upload

See yesterday's post by knreed. He's asked for Tracert reports by mail to maintain confidentiality of the IP addresses at the members end... by those that see this frequently. See my post how to capture the data.

Re: HTTP error on upload

What's the status of this problem? I believe my home system is suffering from the same issue, repeatedly reporting "Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error". For a few weeks now I've had difficulty uploading, reporting, and now I can't even download work any more. It's been over a month since a tech said they were looking into this issue. This is very frustrating, and some help and/or information would be much appreciated. I would be happy to provide logs or other information if it may help.

My environment (FWIW):
Windows 7 x64; dial-up Internet access; BOINC 6.10.56; was running HCC, tried switching to HCMD2 - no change

Re: HTTP error on upload

Hi Sekerob,
I don't see any link listed in your post in this thread about doing a Tracert or where to email the results. The last time I tried to upload results 1 of 3 wouldn't progress even though it indicated 100%. My wife's MacBook (Intel) has no problem with her wireless at work or with our neighbor's access point. When I used her MacBook and shared it's wireless over ethernet I was able to upload the last result from my G4. It seems to be something with the dial-up.

Re: HTTP error on upload

For tracert see http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ad,29011_offset,10#281644

Think I'll add this post to the FAQ's and starting to wonder if it might be related to client (versions). Seeing same, but don't have to do anything... it always self resolves after a few tries with Linux Lucid Lynx and the Synaptic package 6.10.17, running a mix of HPF2/HCMD2/CEP2 and mostly only when the large result file is uploaded whilst work is being requested. Here a large sample of log where during an upload of 2 CEP2 results, more work is called down... and seemingly zero transmit problems:

As was posted yesterday, possibly 90 second timeouts may play a roll, when some of the big results need sometimes 7-10-15 minutes to get across.

edit:

to add, the current quad network values [over 802.11N Wifi] per the BOINC client state file give the below, 16kbps up, 440kbps down.

Re: HTTP error on upload

Seeing same, but don't have to do anything... it always self resolves after a few tries with Linux Lucid Lynx and the Synaptic package 6.10.17, running a mix of HPF2/HCMD2/CEP2 and mostly only when the large result file is uploaded whilst work is being requested.

Unfortunately my problem here is not so limited. I have no work to upload or report, but this is now my second day of being completely unable to download new work. Also, because I have dial-up I'm running HCC, which probably has just about the smallest file size of any active project, so from my perspective file size doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. I would also mention that I'm crunching just fine on my work computer, which has a fast Internet connection.

As I finish writing this I've finally been able to download a couple of tasks after earlier getting yet another "HTTP internal server error". I don't know if I just got lucky or if something has been fixed.

Re: HTTP error on upload

It looks like I was just lucky when I was able to download a couple of jobs. I'm once again getting repeated server errors when trying to get more work.

Would someone from WCG please say something about this for those of us who are experiencing this issue? At least let us know whether you're working on it so we know whether we should wait for a solution in the hope of being able to continue participating in this good work or, alternatively, give up and move on.
