Not sure what happened, this is a duel core amd, have returned at least 12 wu prior to this one going No Reply, all with download dates of between 20th and 24th, I am only running a 1.5 day cache. System just seemed to skip this one until it went overdue?????????

this box is remote and on dialup, so I have no acess to it at this time, maybe this weekend if I get time.

Re: Things to make you go Hmmmmmmmmm

The order is determined by the client [when hands off], so what version on what OS is that?

Then what were these jobs with what deadlines and run times before the client took time for this last minute job?

Re: Things to make you go Hmmmmmmmmm

sometimes new clewer boinc stops WU (switching to another WU/project) when it is 99-100% done. So WU is sitting in memory (or not) with like several minutes remaining to crunch.

With 1,5 day cache, this Wu may sit till the deadline, and then, let's say, it is started from checkpoint and remaining time is increased. So WU gets reported after deadline.

Quite possible, especially if you run several projects on machine with 6.x BOINC

ps: sorry for possibly bad Engrish

Re: Things to make you go Hmmmmmmmmm

fredski,
Could it be that this box had some DDDT2 type A WUs to expedite, by chance?

Re: Things to make you go Hmmmmmmmmm

fredski,

6.2.28 is not very good at preempting itself [WCG], but if this is a 24/7 box and looking at time of receipt and completion ** of those, 6-7 days, it could likely be something else is running on that machine taking the CPU time [spammomatic]. Normally with 1.5 days cache one expects jobs to return not far off from that setting if on-line.

Does not explain though why a 4.18 job did get ignored until near too late.

** The reporting times of 4 tasks 4/27/10 15:02:54 certainly suggest that Linda was off-line or on vacation.

Re: Things to make you go Hmmmmmmmmm

is a dial up box, also at the mercy of her grandkids ;) only allowed online when grandma says ok, but still subject to the kids turning it off or wearing it out with games etc. jobs tend to upload/download in spurts, on the 18th was about 6 wu downloaded, 3-4 more on 20th, more of same on 21st and 23rd, almost all of these were completed and returned before this job. not a big problem, just makes me scratch my head and wonder. She/they have no control of Boinc, know I loaded it, but probably forgotten about it as they have no need to interact

Re: Things to make you go Hmmmmmmmmm

Think we should just leave it then at the hmmmm as to why it appeared to skip that job. BOINC can do a self-dial-up and disconnect btw if you set a schedule, but if it's off it's off. Grandma would then think there's ghosts in the machine :D
