smile BOINC score vs WCG score

I have 2 related questions:
1) Is WCG accumulated points a subset of BOINC stats? Are points, comparable computation load wise across projects? Say WCG vs Milkyway@home if I were to run both only on main CPU one at a time? Will make more sense when you read question 2.
2) Are BOINC credits form Milkyway@home compatible to WCG stats? My MW@Home is mostly running on my video card and I have about 57,000 BOINC credits and about 5000 WCG credits, does that roughly mean that the processing power of my Radeon HD4870X2 is 10 times greater than that of my main CPU? I do realize that Radeon only does integer while main CPU does FP calculations, but still with properly written code for each one, should I assume that my video card is contributing/crunching 10 more than main CPU?

I guess another way to compare GPU to CPU processing is to say this:
Earning 10000 points running GPU will bring MW@home problem 10 times closer to being solved than earning 1000 points running only main CPU. Here 10 times closer does not mean reducing overall work load left 10 fold, but rather increasing work done by tenfold.

Thanks

Re: BOINC score vs WCG score

Hello FermiNeutron,
BOINC points are supposedly the same across all projects. In practice, we would need some hardware counters keeping track of flops in the microprocessors to achieve our ideal. So the estimates that we use to count points are fairly uniform across projects but have peculiar limitations when examined under a microscope.
However, WCG did not start out using BOINC. Rather, BOINC was added to a pre-existing point scheme. For WCG only, we multiplied BOINC points by 7 to get WCG points. Our intention, formally announced 2 years ago is to someday divide the WCG points by 7 and report BOINC points on our site. But we have kept busy handling new projects and hunting down emergency bugs, so I have no idea when we will adjust our points to match BOINC points.
