i am sure they are providing work as quick as they can Martin and i have found it dosn't really help to try to push them too much. as long as the work is coming be happy... when its not there are other projects on here that you can crunch while you wait knowing that when more work shows up it will be quality work tested as well as they can to ensure they have as few problems as possible and are more useful to science than work units that people will complain about do to bugs and errors.
----------------------------------------both the scientists and WCG tech's are doing great job informing us as much as they can about these projects and yes there will be delays and slowdowns in any project now and then. also realize that since we are currently expecting new projects to show up soon as well as a rainfall for DDDT2 soon that the WCG techs are probably also busy trying to make sure they can pass the beta tests and all other work while trying to balance work for us insane badge hunters who keep leaping from one project to another trying to get the work we want. just remember even if the work you desire is not flowing to the amount you want there are always tidbits of food from the other WCG projects you can snack on while you wait remember each time we can knock out the results for any project means more crunching computers for all the other projects. and likewise each disease we can knock back or knock out gives the scientists on the project you want a cure for a higher ranking in everyone mind on ok lets cure this next. good luck happy crunching and i hope you get all the food you desire ![]() |

Speaking of Project work I know we have pleanty of it.. when I check some Work Units direct I see "Waiting to be Sent" meaning that WU replication has not been asigned to a Member yet to crunch.. I love a good steady work flow.. I estamate I should hit 2 years with this project sometime next week.. :D

good luck happy crunching and i hope you get all the food you desire nasher, pushing the researchers to provide work wasn't what I had in mind. They had indicated that there is a lot in the pipe. Instead, I am curious what the next WUs will be all about. If you participate in a dinner, don't you want to know what you are about to eat next? Regards, Martin ![]() |

I'll be happy to update our experiments table and post a status update when I get a chance. It's been a little hectic here for me. While I'm not technically leaving the lab, I'm leaving NY in a couple weeks. I have quite a backlog of re-processing to do for our publication before I leave.
A short update would be that we have plenty more work queued up. I added "Chlamydomonas reinhardtii" into the pipeline (wikipedia it for a description). It's a few months worth of work and it will give us time to set up the Human Microbiome proteins (mentioned in previous posts) which will run for a very long time. I understand you guys want to know what's up. I'll tell you more when I have time. Suffices to say, there hasn't been any slowdown or delay with the project and we are still producing great structure predictions. Now we just need to finish this manuscript and get the whole thing publicized! We know the WCG predictions are going to be a hugely popular resource. |

I looked at Chlamydomonas reinhardtii on Wiki and this sounds so interesting. I hope WCG will grow so big that your research will be overwhelmed by WCG processing power and you will be in the position to have almost instant finish on whatever project you might have. |

Looks like missed one dish while you were stirring the pot. You must read the menu and the sheet insert the master chef added on May 5: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,29021_offset,0#278669 That's what we are currently enjoying, as far as I understood. So I guess what uplinger mentioned he had uploaded to the servers was only a fraction of the complete meal to be done for this organism, and there will be more courses to come. We have built on our servers up to batch NJ714. -Uplinger Crunching nj654 currently - I guess Chlamydomonas reinhardtii isn't completed and you will put more of that onto the servers tomorrow? Regards, Martin ![]() |

JCVI is working on HMP. I suppose that WCG is supplementing JCVI and NIH on this task. I know that WCG have folded some proteins for the JCVI before. Are some of the bacteria we are crunching from the JCVI and maybe from the GOS? I know some of the bacteria described are useful in bioremediation. (Digest toxic waste for example)
I love crunching for the JCVI. If they had their own grid I would have joined. URL: http://hmp.jcvi.org/ http://www.thoughtware.tv/videos/watch/4909-C...nterviews-Richard-Dawkins http://www.syntheticgenomics.com/ |
