Hi, I'm using boinc, newest version, but am unable to find any shut down options like; shut down pc at xy date xy time, or shut down when idle more than xy minutes or shut down when no work is available. One of my computers is not always online so why should it work and waste energy if no useful work is done???

Numbering the features you looked for:
----------------------------------------1 shut down pc at xy date xy time, 2 shut down when idle more than xy minutes 3 shut down when no work is available. Point 1 does not exist [many reasons why it cant, mostly programming effort needed for countless OS/Hardware combo's]. For 2, there is in fact a "pause when computer has been idle..." but it's only available on the web site device profiles. 3 is not required since when BOINC is idle, your power saving features as with point 2 can kick in i.e. you configure your OS what to do when the CPU is idling.

I already found what I was looking for; AMP WinOFF application features all those things I needed ( http://www.ampsoft.net/utilities/WinOFF.php ).

OK, please let us know if there's no BOINC work corruption as then maybe more folk will be wanting to test this.
----------------------------------------Anyway, the web device option to set is: Stop work after computer is idle for: 20 minutes You then need to set BOINC to Run based on Preferences in the activity menu to execute the setting.
