I vaguely recall a while back asking a question and someone posted a graph that showed which project was handing out the most points and I was just wondering where to find that?
----------------------------------------I'm just monitoring some of my machines and trying to figure out if Linux has caused a point decrease or if the projects have changed. Hardware is still the same yet I'm seeing twenty to thirty thousand a day point drops from a month or so back. HCMD was giving the highest yields at the time so if the graph shows it dropped down that would probably explain it but I haven't found it in my travels. |

One possibility is to go in the Global Stats per Project. And then selecting each project you get all the corresponding data, in average or per day, or total etc.. You can then compare the average number of points per result or per hour of processing. with the other projects. From that you can build your own cross project comparative table.
----------------------------------------I do not know if there is already such a table available somewhere. ![]() |

I honestly don't know if the person that posted the graph last time created it or if they got it somewhere though I suspect the latter. It had a line for each different WCG project and how it was doing. |

I think you may be referring to the great charts that Sekerob publishes for us ... http://bit.ly/WCGGLB
----------------------------------------The projects themselves have not changed enough to see that much of a difference in your points. Are you certain that all energy savings features are turned off on your new OS? [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Apr 4, 2010 9:57:10 AM] |

Hi LoneWolf_53 !
----------------------------------------As this chart WCG Hourly Project Credits shows HCMD2 is still at the top regarding credits per hour. And according to this one HCMD2 Performance Chart its credit yield has not significantly changed over time. You say "Hardware is still the same". Fine, but what about software? Have you changed your BOINC version recently? Although I hardly understand why, it seems that each BOINC version has its own particular benchmark routine, and upgrading or downgrading can lead to different credit performance. Also you don't say on which time frame you notice a lower crediting. If you look at it day by day it is not significant at all since HCMD2 is a dual distribution project and as such the daily crediting is highly dependent on the number of WUs pending validation. I would say that crediting must be analyzed at least on a sliding 7-day range for being significant. Cheers. Jean. Both charts from Sekerob's collection available in the Start Here FAQs. |

Thanks Jean.
----------------------------------------The BOINC version I'm running is the same but it may well be the switch from Win7 to Linux that's causing my changes. I'll just keep monitoring on a weekly basis. |
