Re: To IBM NOS_Support: I have a bone to pick with you!

Why is that monster only at #25?

Cheers coffee
Because it has produced less credits than the 24 in front of it. wink
Look at chart "Credits per day, last 30 days" for a clue.

I see... It must take a month for the power supplies to cool off or refill the nitrogen tank. thinking

Cheers coffee

More probably, like MrKermit's data center it has business related work to do in between.
At first we might find it sad, but in fact they would not be with us at all if they had not this business to justify their cost.

Agreed, having a machine like this available to WCG even part time is a huge plus.

Re: To IBM NOS_Support: I have a bone to pick with you!

Now they've got this "thing" that shows as 63.5 cores and 127 threads..
Did it get so powerfull that it became self aware and decided to change the logic of math itself? laughing

Ijust stuck a new machine on WCG today.
A dual socket 24 core AMD Magny Cours system.
Not the top 2300mhz chips but the 6168's( 1900mhz)
Just getting a feel for it now but it's looking to be interesting.
Needs speed like everything else but it's been a long time since I worked with a AMD system.
The challenge is to figure out how tooverclock aserver board when the people that make the board do not want anyone increasing any of the speeds..
Interestingly enough it does have presets to run memory all the way up to 933(1866) and that really surprised me.
Now to figure out how to get into the HT reference clocks.. devilish

Re: To IBM NOS_Support: I have a bone to pick with you!

Movieman,

suppose I would consider my Solar System as one and unique object. After all it would be legitimate to do so. The machines crunch only WCG 24/7. What counts in the end is what you effectively produce and what WCG does see.
Before the cosmic cataclysm, I could rate my system as a unique machine with 80 Cores and 160 Threads. Maybe someone has found a way to aggregate in the BAM manager multiple hosts as one.
Now I am back at something like 24 Cores and 48 threads. You see I am learning to be more modest at least for some time. wink

Someday you and I have to get together.
If your ever going to be over here let me know beforehand.
