Error "No work can be sent for the applications you have selected" What's this?

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to get some of the new-fangled DDDT-2 Phase 2 units but whenever the client tries to get one I get the following error messages.

28/03/2010 11:30:52|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work can be sent for the applications you have selected
28/03/2010 11:30:52|World Community Grid|Message from server: You have selected to receive work from other applications if no work is available for the applications you selected
28/03/2010 11:30:52|World Community Grid|Message from server: Sending work from other applications

I have tried to search this forum for this error but end up with thousands of posts to search through (is there a way to search for an entire phrase as entered rather searching for each word?)

Found that this project needs 1024meg of ram. My machine is Win XP dual-core with 2x512mb sticks in it so I thought it would be OK or am I wrong?

I set my preferences to use 100% of the memory when idling but the messages list shows this as 1022.41mb which will mean this project will never run on this machine as it is now.

What is my brain cell missing on this?

Regards,
GH

Hi,

Let's not try answering that last question ;)... the messages are really speaking for themselves WCG having 7 active and 3 intermittent projects.

28/03/2010 11:30:52|World Community Grid|Message from server: No work can be sent for the applications you have selected
28/03/2010 11:30:52|World Community Grid|Message from server: You have selected to receive work from other applications if no work is available for the applications you selected

First line telling there are presently no tasks for the sciences you selected and the last line telling that instead alternate work was send to keep your computer busy [as per your selections].

Look in your My Grid > Device Manager > Device Profile or in My Grid > My Projects what you've got selected and adjust as needed.

Sek, you're quite right not to answer my last question. It could take a long time to answer!

Anyhow, thanks for the replies. I have just checked "My Projects" and I have to confess to a minor amount on buffoonery on my part. Noticed that DDDT2 phase 2 was in fact not ticked d oh, I obviously messed up when trying set my Projects.

So lets see what happens when it tries to connect and download next.....
