confused [RESOLVED] How to set BOINC to not run tasks during a movie

Hi,
I have sort of a problem with setting up when BOINC should run its tasks. I do want it to start after I've been away from the computer for 5 minutes. That is, when the screensaver starts. Only exception are movies that I often watch from my computer. The program I use for viewing movies (bsplayer) has an ability to block screensaver from activating and since I use BOINC as a screensaver, I thought it wouldn't start running its tasks when I watch movies. Wrong.
Apparently, BOINC and the screensaver do not communicate with each other so after 5 minutes of watching a movie, even though the screensaver does not start, BOINC begins to run its tasks(Idle timer = screensaver timer = 5min). Though the movie doesn't really start stuttering, my computer (naturally) gets a bit louder and that's not something you want to happen while watching movies.
I tried adding to the cc_config.xml a line after <options> section <exclude_app>bsplayer.exe</exclude_app> and loading it, but with no effect. I understand it's not even available in the most recent stable version (6.2.28)?

Is there any other way to prevent BOINC from running while watching movies? Only option I can think of is to set the idle timer to something like 150 minutes, but obviously it greatly reduces the cpu time I donate.

Re: How to set BOINC to not run tasks during a movie

Upgrade to 6.10.3x or higher, but at least 6.3.x as per the FAQ. I understand that 6:10 will not pass WCG muster until April or May... too many issues for a recommendation that could affect very big crunchers adversely.

Other way: Try Process Lasso. It's got a whole swath of priority controls, down to it being able to torque of processes based on total system load... a function in 6.10.32 and up.

PS: My cruncher get's fan-louder just by loading Google Earth. It's the video card driving temps too.

There's no way to set the snooze length. It's 60 minutes, in old and new versions.

Re: How to set BOINC to not run tasks during a movie

Installed newer version (6.10.18) and the problem is now gone. The exclusive_app thing works perfectly and this version can even make use of my graphics card, which I enabled instantly and got it crunching, too. I do hope that they make more projects available for ATI cards in the future (only 2 right now).

Thank you very much for your help!
