This has been going for one month and I have completed one WU only. (which was due to a glitch anyway).
----------------------------------------Using the data from the chart below (which is really useful btw - thanks Sekerob), is it worth me crunching data for the DDDT2 project ? ![]() Others have already got to Silver and Gold or even higher, and others already waiting to sweep up more than 100Wu's at a time. Is there any point in small time crunchers such as me participating in a short duration (relative) project such as this ? ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by rwremote at Mar 22, 2010 12:38:43 AM] |

Have a look at the estimated progress: 0,0693%.
This project hasn't really started, is is still starting. And the fight against diseases like hepathitis-C, dengue fever and others is well worth to crunch this project. Just my 2 Cents. |

I'm thinking about your question.
I have two small duos, not very fast, not very powerful, and, with the time, I got gold badges, and even a ruby ! But with DDDT2 it seems different. Even when I ask ONLY DDDT2 Wus I get only one answer : no work available. Then I see that some happy crunchers have already a gold badge for this project, and I wonder if there is some sort of priority for big machines... Of course, I keep on asking, each project is valuable. I can't say that one project is more important than another. That's why I try to get the same badge for each project : just to serve them equally. Concerning DDDT2, at this moment I failed... Let's be patient.... |

Then I see that some happy crunchers have already a gold badge for this project, and I wonder if there is some sort of priority for big machines... Fortunaltely we have crunchers who have 5, 10, 20 or more machines. It is simply a question of propabiltiy that some of those machines asked for new work when the big a-types were distributed. With runtime of 50 hours or more per unit and - say - 5 multicore machines sucking units at the right time, the first badges were completed easily. Nothing to say against that. Among others I also have two small machines: A duo and a single core. Those machines never got an a-type, but they will be the right ones as soon as the big bunches of c-types are distributed. The priorities for some machines for A- and B-Types (in short words 'reliable fast returners') are made official in this forum by the techs and CAs. That's just fair. |

If you look at today results returned which is 88 by the way. Your chances of getting DDD-T II WU's is about the same as getting struck by lightening. I have 10 machines doing about 30 days of WU's a day and so far have had 5 DDD-T II WU's despite running only it and HCMD II. Eventually it will open up but right now despite having several heavy duty machines that have great records, NADA! So it goes.

"Right now" there is no regular distribution of DDDT2 WUs, so nobody gets any.
----------------------------------------There have been a few hundred distributed several days ago, which means 2 or 3 minutes of the servers' time, so if our machines are not requesting work precisely during this extremely short period we are simply out of luck. If things are going as uplinger expects we might begin to see bigger numbers of C-type WUs in the coming days. Regarding A-Type and B-type WUs there will be only about 200,000 jobs over the whole project, therefore even "reliable" devices will not see many of them. ![]() |
