Have looked at the faqs and have read these fine threads and followed links beyond...
----------------------------------------http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17160 http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17303 http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=6105 Found lots of good stuff in there but still have a question- not about points, credits or any of that just a little clarification about what is considered fast/reliable/high priority. Though I must admit to a bit of hoovering back in January -I leave settings at connect every 0.0 days with Additional work buffer of 0.1 day and just let everything roll through. Just added some boxes that are crunching HFCC and I know they'll do the quorum of 2 until they go fast/reliable. When I add other projects to their mix- am I correct in assuming the boxes will have to prove themselves fast/reliable for each project? Sorry if I missed the answer somewhere else, I looked around a fair bit -searching "reliable" Thanks ,Paul ![]() |

The fast/reliable is only important for 3 things [can't think of other reasons presently]:
----------------------------------------- If you're really eager to get those < 4 day deadline repair/no reply jobs. You need 15 successive valid results to be in this class and be known to return regular deadline jobs under 4 days. - For the Zero Redundancy projects [FAAH/HFCC] so your client is allowed to run the job alone. For standard quorum 2 or higher it's not relevant. - The daily device quota. Each bad result knocks the quota down to the point where many will reduce this down to 1 per day, BUT, if the device returns a good result, that quota is immediately doubled, so if a good result is returned and the limit was reduced to e.g. 8, it immediately is raised to 16, etc. i.e. a few bad results does not cause a bad hair day [a device standing idle after a while]

For hfcc, the first few (think 3) will have quorum 2 then will be solo, except for the random "recheck". HCMD-2 is always quorum 2, HPF is always 19, FAAH is similar to HFCC, have not done a HCC in a while and don't remember

Hello Panasko,
Just look at the Results Ststus Page at My Grid - Results Status. That will tell you how fast you are returning results. Lawrence |

Awesome
----------------------------------------As far as getting the I'm happy if the boxes are busy, that's the big thing... Knock on wood I've done well, everything is valid with an inconclusive once in a great while. Reading other threads I expect maybe a few more bumps in the road as I add projects. Something to keep an eye on it but nothing to go crazy about.... Thanks (esp for the daily device quota, I hadn't put that piece in place) Paul ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by pramo at Feb 26, 2010 11:26:00 PM] |
