I'm on a Mac, 10.4.9 (Tiger), have been running WC tasks for months with no issues. Last task (FightAIDS) hasn't uploaded for days. A new one (Nutritious Rice) has been in the process of downloading all day. I have two other tasks running with no UL/DL problems. I've tried hitting the update button at different times, I get Communication deferred 10 seconds, then nothing happens...tasks just show Uploading and Downloading.
----------------------------------------I have the latest BOINC manager installed (6.10.21). What can I do? Thanks in advance. [Edit 1 times, last edit by TKH at Feb 25, 2010 1:35:03 PM] |

Hi,
----------------------------------------This FAQ has a number of steps to work through to resolve the issue. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=21569 If you don't manage, post a copy of a series of BOINC messages so we can read what BOINC is doing or trying to do. ttyl

I've seen this on my home network and fixed it by turning off the router/cable modem for 10 seconds or so and plugging them back in.
Then the obvious, have you rebooted your mac? Sorry, had to ask. ![]() |

Thanx for the link to the FAQs...I was looking at another FAQ which didn't have these answers...saved them for future ref. When I checked this morning, problem ceased.
Yes, I had rebooted my Mac (the obvious IS necessary ;-)...no problem). I'll also reboot router/cable modem in the future...didn't think of that as I wasn't having internet problems otherwise. |

Great, and plz post back if you cannot fix it next time. On my full W7 wifi network I now only need to boot the router to reset everything.
----------------------------------------Till them would you kindly edit your opening post and insert [RESOLVED] in the title, sample title in this post. happy crunching.
