Tons of errors

A few days ago I decided to get back into crunching, but I'm not so sure I'm doing any good. Any suggestions?

HFCC work unit error:
autogrid4: WARNING: I just prevented an attempt to take the arccosine of -1, a value less than -1.

nb560 work unit error:
SIGSEGV: segmentation violation

R00519 work unit error:
Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline

Here is one of the errors in more detail:

Re: Tons of errors

Wild Guess: Linux?

Tell us bout what Linux/Version and please post copy of the startup client message log.

The key error seems this:

process exited with code 193 (0xc1, -63), seemingly only once before reported for the HFCC project in this thread http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,24794_offset,0#220222

which should give more pointers where to look

Let us know and we'll take it further from there/here

edit: found another thread with this error in the none-project specific BOINC support forum with Ubuntu as platform, and covering the HFCC science: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/...ead,27559_offset,0#252399

Re: Tons of errors

Yep Mythbuntu specifically. My best computer spends its days occasionally recording tv shows. Figured I might as well make it do something useful.

Ubuntu with the xfce desktop and mythtv in 1 package. 64-bit. I see I don't have the ia-32 libs installed as the other thread pondered over.

Startup log is as follows: (I hope this is the right log)

Yes, the 32 bit libraries are a must for the 64 bit *nux's to get WCG 32 bit compiled science to run successfully. Give that a go and see what happens.

Re: Tons of errors

I take that back, they were installed. I reinstalled and rebooted, so I'll see what happens over the next couple days.

Re: Tons of errors

So far so good.. mostly. :) It looks like reinstalling the ia32 libs fixed things up.

Here's something interesting tho. The Help Cure Cancer project is showing this in both the inconclusive and valid results.

Unrecognized XML in parse_init_data_file: computation_deadline
Skipping: 1264628502.000000
Skipping: /computation_deadline

The 1264... number changes. I can copy the rest if you want, but the stats are updating. Talk about timing. heh

Re: Tons of errors

Nothing to worry about. It just means that this application has not been programmed to recognize this parameter** and it is simply ignoring it.
Since the number is the WU's deadline in BOINC notation it is normal that this number changes.
And logically you should find these three lines in all HCC result logs (I have not run HCC for a while so I cannot check it myself).

Cheers. Jean.

** It was probably introduced after the current level of the HCC application which is very stable and has not changed for long.
