Hi. I've have just had an email that my computer haven't returned a result for 2 months. I assumed that all was ok as I saw the screen saver running but not in fact any project details as in previous times. I have checked preferences and noticed that the network upload and download rate is set to 0.00 on defualt settings. I can see messages such as "resuming computation" and "resuming network activity". Anyone any suggestions. Stan

Stan, what's the name of the owner in the project tab of the BOINC client? Are there any jobs processing? You can see that in the client tasks tab and in the Windows Task Manager (when run as admin). These processes tend to take a high % of the availlabe CPU time. Also if you go to My Grid > Result Status you can see if there was recent assignment of work in progress to your client.
----------------------------------------The 0.00 setting simply indicates a No Limitation on traffic bandwidths.

In BOINC Manager Projects tab Project is WCG; Account is flughland; status is deferred. In Tasks tab there are 2 projects complete and waiting to report. Nothing appears in My Grid/ REsults Status. I could reinstall WCG BOINC on my computer? I did have a glitch about 6 weeks ago but appeared to get over it ok; this may be residual problem. BOINC manager appears to be running ok but not communicating. I have set to "Network activity always available" but it doesn't appear to have made a difference.

Ok, in the projects tab, select WCG and hit the Update button in the left margin. After, go to the messages tab and post whats logged there.
----------------------------------------Also, look in the Transfer tab and see if there are any files to upload. If so select one and hit the Retry Now button. Again look in the message tab and post the log entries here if they indicate connection/upload issues.

Following you instructions and looking in messages tab got the following messages: firstly "sending scheduler request: request by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 2 completed tasks." and secondly "scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks". Does this sugest that I have a preferences set up such that the BOINC manager doensnt want to do any more tasks?

That's progress. If you now look in My Grid > Result Status you should see these jobs with a different status than In Progress.
----------------------------------------Given you have no work **, go to the Project Tab, select WCG and hit the Reset button. It sounds as if your client has confused timings due to the delay in reporting work. ** But, before doing so, you might already have received a few new jobs to keep the cores busy. Sometimes it takes a little.
