Re: core i7 860 question...

Please click on the "Performance" tab and tell us if on the top half where it says "CPU Usage History" if there are 4 graphs or if there are 8 graphs. This will tell us if hyperthreading is turned on or off. Depending on your answer we will continue in one of two directions. My money is on hyperthreading already beingf turned on and you need to tweak your crunching preferences.
If there are 8 graphs then please let us know if you are managing your preferences locally through BOINC mnagaer or if you are using the website. If the website please let us lknow if you are using the default profile or if you selected one of the specific profiles. Depending on which profile this machine is using check the CPU Usage settings. There is one that ask how many CPUS (make sure you say at least 8) and another asks how much percentage of CPUs to us (please sayy 100).

Re: core i7 860 question...

On the website, go to my grid --> device manager --> device profiles --> default. Scroll down to advanced options and change "On multiprocessors, at most use" from 4 to 8 and save. Then in the WCG client, press update and it should download more tasks and start crunching 8 instead of 4.
