Could it be some kind of validity checking? I think your "31 декабря 2010 мы вышли на 60 место!" in your new text should be "31 декабря 2009 мы вышли на 60 место!".
----------------------------------------I'm kidding, obviously. I have no idea why your update is rejected with this message. I was thinking of a possible exceeded length but the message should not be that in that case. Cheers. Jean. |

The new description is longer then the size of the database column that stores the data. A shorter description will be allowed in.

Could it be some kind of validity checking? I think your "31 декабря 2010 мы вышли на 60 место!" in your new text should be "31 декабря 2009 мы вышли на 60 место!". Cheers. Just tested this and get a red message clearly stating that the team description exceeded 500 characters, but not your application failure. Maybe knreed fixed something today... had a brief interruption of service on the /WCG hyperlinks to WCG i.e. the forum was off-line.
----------------------------------------edit: Mind you, I don't know if Cyrillic and other special character languages require more storage space on a per-character basis.

it is not really clear why this 500 symbols limitation exist since there are no such strict limits in BOINC team description...

Well... WCG existed before BOINC is my guess, which was build on a UD implementation of 2001 or there abouts. Think you're the first to report on a description save issue and report on it by my recollection. But, is your text really 500 or is it something else that causes this, because... I took a 510 test text and it gave the 500 exceed warning and when I take your text, looking clearly less than 500 and get the app error. Anyway, for the moment can only suggest to play with the description so it does fit.
----------------------------------------cheers edit: per my writing app your text is 277 characters in 56 words without spaces, and 322 with spaces.
