Well I may be away for a while myself.
----------------------------------------they have found an abnormal thyroid growth (one they can not tell if its cancerous or not till they take it out) so in a few weeks i will be going under the knife. Hopeing its not cancer (was told about 15% chance of it being cancer) so i am curently busy with a lot of pre surgery stuff so i might not get a chance to post much more till its done (if i find out more i will try to respond ) but as they get closer to doing the surgery i will have less and less time to read let alone respond [Edit 1 times, last edit by nasher at Apr 9, 2010 3:51:10 PM] |

(was told about 15% chance of it being cancer) Yes, best of luck - just keep focusing on the fact that it's an 85% chance of it NOT being cancer |

Good luck, nasher.
My personal approach to surgery is an empty stomach (ughh!), a blank mind and an open check book (sigh - -). Just another unpleasant thing to get through. Lawrence |

That's really sad news, nasher.
----------------------------------------But statistics are on your side: first, as gb009761 said, there is 85 % chance of it not being a cancer. And even if it happens to be one this is one with the highest success rates. So stay confident. And if you can, try my personal philosophy. If worrying cannot improve the situation try to not worry! Seize every opportunity to think of something else and try to be in the best possible mental condition for facing these tough days. I know, it may be easier to say than to do, but at least try it. Best of luck! Jean. |
