Once the laughing and the urge to suggest I move onto a operating system from this century stops, let me explain the reason for the question. I have a number of systems at work and home that run on the NT platform simply becuase a number of applications that I use could not or would not due to cost be updated to the lastest and greatest, I have these system running and they are working for about 45% of the time but they are up & running 100% of the time. Seems like a waste to have these systems setting around when they could be doing something useful. So any hope I can this untapped resource? ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by TKH at Dec 2, 2009 1:36:11 PM] |

Window 2000, WinXP, Vista, W2K3, W2K8, W7, all show on the info sheet that they are Windows NT (kernel technology ;>)
----------------------------------------Maybe you could with e.g. Win 5.4.11, the oldest allowed BOINC, because it's the first one that has the security features that WCG requires. Try to install and discover. Personally I liked WNT because one could affix comments to files... not found how since. edit: Quick Check, the later BOINC 5.8.16 also runs on NT.

Just to close this out I was able to find BOINC 5.8.16 under the http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php location of this site. The install had no problems when I selected the one user mode. By adding this I will able to increase my crunch time a gret deal. Thanks for the lead

Great, if you please edit your original post and insert [RESOLVED] in the title, we can put another notch on the cane. The techs have set an extra batch of work units aside for you to process :D
