I have noticed that BOINC has an update but is that the same as World Community Grid? I bin waiting for IBM to update it's software as well but i don't see that happening any time soon. Does it make any difference if i upgrade the software. i am on vista with 2 cores AMD

If you are computing only for WCG you can quietly wait for the next version which will be offered by WCG in the coming weeks.
----------------------------------------Other versions of BOINC offered at Berkeley should work too but the most recent ones may be less stable. |

Their is no performance increase with updates just more accurate and easier to manage?

Dry booting the computer. If this client managed to fetch/return work before with it should start working again.
