Re: Progress Update

Not quite... if there are a very large number of "preferred" crunchers, it will lead to a bigger than average share as is visualized in this chart:

http://bit.ly/WCGSHR

It would be silly to not send work into the feeders if any research share were greater by demand, and have yet to hear from anyone that on the full active sciences that have no technical reason to be slowed, to not get work on a continuous basis. It's all about how much supply is in the the WUrehouse. That's not always gapless for one or the other science.

Re: Progress Update

I see, I'm glad my suggestion was useless since the scheduler will have the projects running smoothly, which was my main concern smile

Re: Progress Update

Not useless :D. Since I'm rather bashful, if it's thought appropriate to sticky the "performance chart" threads at top of each science forum, there'd be always a graph on hand with the latest, incorporating the official and inofficial. E.g. Nico_B updates the official numbers every 1-2 weeks and my "pc" takes the work that was validated, but not yet confirmed by the scientists as having been received in good order. For HCMD2 this means that we're usually about 1-2% ahead of them in crunched work.

Could put them in kind of a uniform post at the top if the WCG agrees (they'll have to do the sticky part) and have the old crunching chart threads locked.

You propose/agree on the elements in the template and if light to maintain...

Re: Progress Update

Today hit the overall 80% progress for this research, or 60% of the second 3 targets set.

Re: Progress Update

Great. I'm going to try to get one more year in before it finishes.

Re: Progress Update

Sounds great. Should be able to get 5 years in before completion of project.

Does this means that WCG doesn't plan to "recompile" the HFCC code to run faster on windows? I mean when they "recompiled" the code for C4CW, it reduced the time to almost half of before. Uplinger said that they are working on "recompiling" the other projects, but I don't know of what order or the time frame. They might not spend the time on HFCC if it is going to finish in early May, but who knows.
