It's a great day when we hear about a completion and the some of the science behind what we crunch. I'm with all those crunchers that can't wait to start Phase II .....Cheers

yes im waiting for phase 2. phase one did seem a little buggy to me as well so i ran CEP1 with less viggor than i did with other projects
----------------------------------------right now since im waitin on new projects i am workin on improving badge levels of things i like (yes i was intrested in CEP but by the time i got back to runnin them there wasnt enough time to get a higher badge) ![]() |

It is so cool that we can have such a positive effect on human promoting research by supporting BOINC. I wonder as a whole if we are more powerful, more teraflops, than the most powerful super computer?

In terms of BOINC projects, I do believe WCG is second only to SETI The performance of the most powerful supercomputers are published at http://www.top500.org The most powerful one is an IBM Roadrunner with a peak performance of 1456704 GFlops - or 1456.704 TFlops. This Supercomupter has 129600 Cores of PowerXCell 8i Processors at 3200 MHz plus some Opterons. Yes, this Supercomputer is much faster than our entire grid - but this may change ![]() |
