Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

You should see the drought we are suffering through tonight !

Did you know no rain ever falls on this parched brown and unpleasant land

A DISCOURSE ON GLOBAL WARMING, I MEAN CLIMATE CHANGE, OOPS I MEAN CLIMATE DISRUPTION Article written by Joe Bastardi:

A Discourse on Global Warming, I mean Climate Change, oops I mean Climate Disruption.

If it changes to something else before you read this, just type it in.

Joe Bastardi co chief meteorologist, Weatherbell Analytics.

As many of you know, I am 1st Hand Weather Blogger Garrett Bastardi’s Father and like my father before me will do anything to fuel his childrens passion for what they are made to do. He appears to have the same kind of drive I had for this, and of course with my dad as a meteorologist, there is a genetic predisposition toward it. http://firsthandweather.com/blog/all-posts/global-warming-joe-bastardi

The Guy in the UK that broke the Climategate 2 story has had his house raided and some of his computers confiscated

http://tallbloke.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/tal...omputers-taken/#more-3831

The Thought Police would be just a fictional concept in a dystopian novel published in 1949 then?

I await the knock on the door for this

I think we have reached the peak of the latest warm bump in the graph I imagine it will be downhill again to the end of 2011

In light of the above does anyone know of a good mysql + coldfusion host that would allow scheduled tasks to be created that isn't based or has any business links with that bastion of freedom that is the United Kingdom ?

My N+1 plan for resilience might just have to take on a global dimension !

Dave

(not in the UK whatever they might have told you. That bit under Ace Cruncher is lying. As is that Union Jack on BOINCstats. No that's not me 54th in the UK at all. It's another David Autumns. It's all a mistake you have wrong guy wink)

That's a terrifying graph - looks like we're all in for a deep freeze. Hopefully something will happen to the climate (maybe around March/April) that will save us from another snowball earth.

I hoping Soong

March is good for me

It's the Red Line entering from the right that is the driver for the little project

Average Solar Yearly Temperature

This will be reset on the 1/1/2012 as the data pre 2011 has more weather stations in the raw data and I want always to compare apples with apples (pre 2011 I was still in testing mode)

Just watch this develop over the coming weeks. More graphs than you can shake a stick at

The Global Thermometer

It gets worse. I've got a friend in Australia, and it turns out the complete opposite is happening. Talk about climate chaos, we're all doomed.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Soong, just don't have the wool pulled over your eyes. That chart is as wrong as wrong can be... it's has zippo zero to do with "global" temperature, just the flat temp average of the stations included [it was pointed out a year ago when that came out]. Global temp is nearing 15C average with a cyclic due the distance change to the sun [we're in Jan nearest], and axis position giving us the seasons. For proper analysis with spacial adjustment visit for instance Tamino's http://tamino.wordpress.com/ who debunks allot of the denialist stuff [too much to tackle it all] or skeptical science: http://www.skepticalscience.com/

The sun's output is a virtual flatliner from decade to decade [enough charts of mine in this thread]. You have to amplify signal by about 250 to see anything... sunspot numbers does barely anything... a 0.1% flux up or down at most. The changes are on the planet. Hundreds of millions of years ago the sun was 30% less luminous, not 1360 Watts per square meter, but 950. Back then earth was warm too and warmer... CO2 levels were 10 fold and higher, then it dropped gradually to what it was through the various last million years iceages and interglacials. Solar luminosity increase through the ages offset by CO2/CH4 decrease and rich plant growth on the continents, whilst the ozone layer developed to allow life on land [due high amounts of UV]. Since the mid 18th century it's gone from about 280 parts per million in the atmosphere to 390 now, an a continuous rise, with sole attribution to fossil fuel burning [the planet is currently still able to absorb 50% of what we inject]. Scientists have been warning since the mid 19th century what the implications are... which is thought to be in the 3C increase range per doubling. This has enormous implications for our food production and where we can grow what... 7 billion we are, and rising unrestrained.

Want a place not to be "informed"... this is the thread.

P.S. Where 90% of excess heat disappears to... the oceans and there's lots of it on the southern hemisphere getting irradiated when we're closest to the sun.

P.P.S., The past tells us what's coming: http://www.skepticalscience.com/end-of-the-hothouse.html
