Hi there, I'm suddenly unable to get any more FAAH work units.
Is something wrong? Thanks. |

it says there are no work units available for the projects you have selected.

Then you really need to check your project selection, because everybody else is getting work.
If you still can't see the problem, then post your actual messages and we'll take a closer look. |

Nothing heard why that would be on a multi-project selection. Since some are seeing this now, either no work or few in the mix, wonder if there is some challenge going on with people buffering up... for which there is zero reason I think... lest that's a strategy to force a win. At any rate, here's where I look
----------------------------------------1. Project stats page 2. The crunching chart thread. http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,18765 They show stronger contribution in last 3 days over the weeks before, 16.8% of the total WCG grid.

On the same day that this thread was created, I was inundated with FAAH WU repair jobs that had errored out after a few minuets.
----------------------------------------I wonder if there is a coralation between Whocrazy's lack of FAAH WU's and the repair jobs I and others were getting? (I've never seen a error message on FAAH before). ![]() ![]() |

Yes, hmmm, the large volume repair jobs may get priority in the queue and then Whocrazy's machine(s) might be locked out if it isn't rated as a quick returner. Something the techs might want to tweak if that were the case.
----------------------------------------Certainly the '8276 I got yesterday, for unknown experiment, processed fine here and as said production volumes of validated results were strong.

Three times in the past few months I've found the same problem. I had to re-install the software and then it would start receiving work units again.
However, as a result it now shows me as a new member and I've lost my past status information. It even tries to replace FAAH with some other cause and I have to fiddle with the program to re-establish my preferences. |

That was wholly unneeded william. For sure you must have created a new user name. When reinstalling you should have registered the device with your old name and you still can. Just detach from WCG in the projects view of BOINC Manager and via the tools menu attach again. New user name, new defaults, which in My Grid > My Projects is All projects.
----------------------------------------As for not receiving work for FAAH, three times, have a look in the My Grid > Result Status page [under your original user name under which the work was done] if your client was returning results with error. Normally if it says "No work available for..." in the client message log its is temporary or something else happened, but I think we wont be knowing since you reinstalled which is likely to loose the old stdoutdae.txt log file (in the data_dir who'se location is printed in the message log). PS: Reinstalling does not create new names. At WCG it's not possible as you have to do this on the website, so probably you previously had a second member name. Let us know and we dig further.
