I have a wu which starts with CMD2 that has been running for 07:17:00 and it says it is 233.599 % complete.

Re: Is this normal.

Hello Ding o,
Currently HCMD2 has a hard cutoff at 12 hours. This was inserted because it was not possible to estimate how long a work unit would run except statistically.

Re: Is this normal.

Hello to all.
I had the same problem.
The Wu-duration 12 hours and almost 300% and finally ending with an error.
The next time that Wu exceeds 100% I abortion.
It is useless to calculate for 12 hours for nothing.
I think it's unnecessary.
Here are the results of Wu:

CM2_0069-RADIA.clustersOccur-2VJ3_ A.clustersOccur_ 0_ 237_ 859_ 326_ 432_ 1-- darengos-wwctdh Erreur 04/10/09 19:54:55 07/10/09 17:03:39 12,02 197,1 / 0,0

Re: Is this normal.

This should not have happened I think. When HCMD2 has reached 6 hours (the initial 100% of standard run time) and not computed 60% of the included positions, it should continue till the end or stop at the 12th hour, if not having reached 100% of all the included positions.

Some clients, and your expired 6.4.7, time progress reporting is buggy i.e. they will report the weirdest percentages. I've has 900% at one time and it still finished properly.

If uplinger reads this he might want to pitch in why it turned error at the 2nd programmatic stop. The log at least looks normal to me with 43266 seconds being 12 hours.

Re: Is this normal.

Thank you for your reply.
The calculation was arrived at 100% in about 3 hours, but continued to Boinc to calculate.
Also the% continued to rise and is stopped when the 12 hours were reached.
What client you can advise me for a processor:
2 GenuineIntelPentium (R) Dual-Core CPU E5200 @ 2.50GHz
[x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 6]
with graphics card (Intel [R] Graphics Media accelator 3100 Driver, 256MB memory, Intel [R] G33/G31 Express Chipset Familly)
Thank you in advance for your response and your help to my question.

Re: Is this normal.

Which operating system do you use?
For my-self, I am still recommending (and using) boinc 5.10.45.
It works reliable and I do not experience any incompatibility with any project.
Cheers,
Yves

Re: Is this normal.

5.10.45 if you can do entirely without the BOINC graphics. For Windows WCG continue to recommend their 6.2.28 if not also into GPU/CUDA based computing. Then it's 6.6.38 from Berkeley as their latest recommended for windows.

that has been running for nearly 2 hours and a half and is 105,790% complet !
I will not take the risk that it end in error and will cancel it immédiatly as 105,970 % is not normal.

Re: Is this normal.

Don't worry, it happens to me pretty often.

But the WU went into an error only once.

So don't be afraid and don't abort this kind of WU, it would have a strong chance to be a waste of computing (computed, I should say) time.
