new PC, new insatllation, Resolved

Hi,
I got a new PC and reinstalled the grid software.
When I want to register as an existing member for weeks already crying I get:
"Unable to connect to the grid server, please verify the settings with your network administrator."
He as well doesn't know what to do.
Could you help me??

How do you connect to the internet?
ie: dial-up, DSL, etc or LAN.

Do you go through a Firewall?

Hi Heidi,

can you please open the BOINC message window, copy the log top to bottom and post it here. Gives us a first chance to have a little read of what happening in the client.

Could be a proxy setting, could be a firewall stopping you to get through.

Hi,
I can't open any window, I only can see the Grid Agent Registration
window. I connect by DSL to the internet and there is a firewall, too for our home-network.

the firewall didn't "stop" me as long as I used th 'old PC', Heide

Grid Agent Registration? You mean the old UD Agent? That one has been retired permanently last year June.

Oh, I have been such a fool!! I took the version I had stored on my PC.
Now I downloaded a new agent and it works smile

Glad we could be of service.

An internal note a few months ago said that there were still a few trying to connect with the UD Agent, the reason a few help items have been left up.

Would you please edit the title of your opening post and insert [RESOLVED]. Then all know it's a closed case without opening the thread to what it's about.
