Thanks for update. Hey why ever end the project as long as useful information is being generated. We are not going anywhere and need the work, as it were. Perhaps a second phase for NRW would be appropriate. As a Badger (ie one who likes badges) it works for me and certainly would draw more crubchers to your project. Variety is the spice of life. Otherwise it is boaring (LOL). I like animals and can not spell.

Sorry for the confusion. No worries, it's all sorted out :-) When we started the project, we restricted ourselves to genes that encoded proteins less than 150 residues. This was roughly 40,000 and you are correct - we are close to finishing those. However, we have added small independently folding subsequences, or domains, from larger proteins to the list. This has raised the number to about 65000 sequences. So that's where the discrepency lies. There are more sequences now. The website should be updated with more details shortly. Hong These are great news. Thanks a lot for your status update, looking forward to a successful end of this project (phase?) :-) Cheers, Alex.

Nasher I'm SO with you on the red being ugly, I was 2 days from ALL gold and they came out with red yuk. Green isnt' much better, but BLUE now thems the pretty ones... So I'll leave with this little rhyme.

The problem is that TOO many of these projects are important and i only have so much processer time to give.. but im back to 4 computers (5 processers) so i am going to slowly speed up again. doubt if i will be able to get computer 5 back up and running anytime soon (unless i get more money for a new system)
----------------------------------------personaly I dont know whats about it but i dont like the red (now mind you in AIDS i think it looks good) personaly im just going for green not blue on this project myself probaly going to crank up the AIDS after this unless some new projects come out. i love getting updates from the projects though ![]() |

personaly I dont know whats about it but i dont like the red Red isn't my favorite color also, and with cached up for the Sapphire badge in IADS, I've decided to upgrade the Ruby Rice badge for at least an Emerald, and maybe even a Sapphire if time will allow me to do so. ![]() Edit: typo. Why not crunch the projects you feel closest too, the badges a sign to the interested of how much the contributions to your favored projects were? Ruby is half a year and that's what I see looking at a badge. A great contribution, considering the whole project has accumulated 2,639 years to date.
----------------------------------------As for the flue project moniker, the official one is FLU1, which you can see if you visit the project statistics page. There's a FLU2 on the boards but that one is entirely open as to when that would be coming. First the 9 targets of phase 1 will be studied.
