Hello,
----------------------------------------a little idea for people optimizing their crunch to get badges before the end of a project : on the "viewMyMemberPage.do" page, before (or after ^^) the "Statistics By Projects" section, a little list with : [name of project] [progress bar with % completion] [estimated number of days left to completion] This could be made like this : Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - Phase 2 | -------------- 80% | 155 days left Influenza Antiviral Drug Search | ----------------- 96% | 5 days left Help Fight Childhood Cancer | -------- 10% | 480 days left Etc., etc. It would be useful to some people ... like me :) ![]() |

It is a thought, but we are never entirely sure of when a project "ends" until within a month or two of when it actually does. CEP is wrapping up very soon, and IADS probably sometime in October.
----------------------------------------Some projects are extremely fluid. Scientists can rerun some samples or feed us more, which gives us more things to process. WCG has a rough idea about timelines, but would rather not say exactly, to give themselves flexibility to change. They usually allow us to spotlight the "next" project to end, and post a readme about 30 days out. I realize that's too short to work on a 6 month badge if you haven't done many days' work and only have one computer.

There are always Sekerok's excellent charts to make use of. Okay, sometimes, surprises (such as IADS) crop up, although on the main, they give a good indication as to how the projects are progressing...

A gannt graph purely dedicated to project progress estimating is now part of the supplemental charts FAQ. See Global link below to view it.

Thank you Sekerob,
----------------------------------------the progress bar I'm talking about is perfectly represented by your number 17 graphic. It just lacks the estimated time to completion - I know it's a difficult thing to know, and that this completion date is moving every time... But your graphic is perfect to know which project we have to crunch to get a badge... thank you very much. ![]() |

The ETC's are represented by the tips of the bars. Look up to the X-axis and you have a fairly good month indication, which is all that I'm going to give you and are same as in chart 1.
----------------------------------------WCG permits me doing this and even they often don't know simply because the work supply is controlled by the scientists. They might suddenly decide, as in the case of FLU1, that target 9, based off the information on the project so far, is sufficient to give them their hands full in the labs. RICE is a good example where they slapped on a whole bunch more, giving room to pursue other shorter term contribution targets. For all, regardless of the project, we heartily thank you.

What you see here is as updated as can be. Date stamp in Pie says Sept.11, 2009, the first chart printing the last time whole or part of the charts were updated. If changes are microscopic I wont, saving my and the host's bandwidth who've been very gracious since last going off the air due overrun. The Google picasa slideshow images also wont update unless there's a detectable change. See the chat room chart discussion threads for links.

Ok, thanks.
----------------------------------------I did not check the date stamp. But one thing surprise me. If you look at CEP project, it is still precised that it will end in octobre with 93,76% completed up to now. Same thing for IADS that is supposed to end in octobre with 76,99 completed for the moment. I think there is some errors in this chart. Don't you think so ? But anyway, errors or not, many thanks for all this graphs and all the time you spend helpping every body on this forum. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by boulmontjj at Sep 11, 2009 9:58:09 AM] |

My arbitrary interpretations, the percentages for most projects are ETC time driven and/or based off "returned" work, not "sent" work. The end date printed is always the one furthest away when it's 'computed' the last result will be validated in a phase. If I have internal info it will override, these 'internal' dates remaining 'internal'.
----------------------------------------Thus we know 7 of 9 [no this is not star trek] for FLU1 are complete. How much is the % on that? My real time chart says about 77% ;)
