Apparently, the Boinc agent is not respecting the preferences I defined for it.
It is interfering with my work, as it continued to use my processors in spite of having been instructed not to do it, unless the system goes iddle after 3 minutes. I do not know whether I will continue running it, as my computer is not very powerful and the portion of processor that boinc is using is precious for me. Do you have any suggestions? I want that boinc only works when I am not using the computer. |

If you are using the web based device manager it will not update the local preferences before next update.
----------------------------------------And you will also have too clear local preferences before it will use web based settings. Hope this answered your question...:) |

jfilardo,
----------------------------------------As per kskjold you're best to visit the Local preferences on the Advanced menu and clear them (if you ever visited them). Then visit the BOINC Manager (Grid/Advanced View) Activity menu and make sure that the "Run based on preferences" is selected.

Also, make sure your BOINC-client is set to "Run based on preferences", and also check your preferences is set correctly, and uses the correct "venue" of home, school, work or default.

Sometimes I wonder if you respond to cached threads not seeing replies?

Sometimes I wonder if you respond to cached threads not seeing replies? Re-shuffled the text, and forgot the "as already mentioned"-part afterwards.![]() "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |
