Looks like nothing more will come. The test nearly finished, just 89 results validated on Friday.

HA HA Don't set your extra work cache longer than about 2.0 to 3 days. The last round of Betas had a 4 day deadline. If the cache on any particular computer was set to 5 days when those came out, that computer didn't get any. Set the "connect to network about every"..... to .1 days. That way the computer will connect more often and have a better chance of picking up a Beta while they in the pipeline. I hope this helps you in your quest for Betas. |

David L6,
Apologize for delay in getting back to you but thanks for the information. As I am currently on a mad dash for IADS badges and am trying to squeeze all those WU's I can but once WCG returns back to normal (Perhaps all this recent changes is to keep us awake), if ever I will make the alterations you suggest. Again thanks! |

Beta's go to any machine regardless the size of the buffer [tested this through 6 days buffer] or the reliability factor. It's always the first hopper checked when work is requested for those that have enrolled in the Beta test program. Why? Because WCG like to test all devices, slow or fast.
----------------------------------------AFAIK only rush/repair work is scheduled by WCG to only go to reliable/fast returning devices and that limit seems presently to be somewhere in the under 4 day range.

AFAIK only rush/repair work is scheduled by WCG to only go to reliable/fast returning devices and that limit seems presently to be somewhere in the under 4 day range. This depends on if you're using "Connect..." or "Additional..." to set cache-size. If "Connect..." > wu-deadline, you will only get this wu if you've got one or more idle cores, and you won't get more work than so all cores has work. So, if beta-wu's has a 4-day deadline, you won't get any if "Connect..." > 4 days, except if a core is out of other work. "Additional..." on the other hand can be 5 days or whatever, you'll still get beta-work. "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |

You've told us that now several times about the 'connect every...', but who does use this feature when everyone is eager to flush work ASAP and fetch new work to keep the cache fully stocked?
----------------------------------------It's a feature useful for the dial-up crunchers who'd like to limit the contacts what it has deflated to.

Beta's go to any machine regardless the size of the buffer [tested this through 6 days buffer] or the reliability factor. I know it does not work w/8 day buffer tho. I missed out this last round, but that's fine as I needed the time to get this next badge. |

I know it does not work w/8 day buffer tho. I missed out this last round, but that's fine as I needed the time to get this next badge I do believe you that you run with an 8-day buffer and that you have not got any beta WU from the last Beta test. But as Sekerob said it is simply not related (unless you have set these 8 days in the "Connect every" parameter instead of the "Cache extra days" one). For info I run with a 0.25 day cache and I have not got any either. This last Beta batch was very small. Maybe we will be more lucky with the next one. Jean. |
