7x Communications...where crunching for the cure is a way of life

I was part of United Devices for a long time using my old team name "American Overclockers"...now I have left the Folding @ Home project to devote time towards curing Cancer and AIDS.

My current setups are as follows:

Q9450 @ 3.5Ghz 8GB RAM running 24/7
Q6600 @ 3.4Ghz 4GB RAM running 24/7
E8400 @ 3.6Ghz 4GB RAM running 24/7
Dell XP1530 T7200 running 24/7

JOIN US and help us fight for the ones we lost.

I personally crunch 24/7 for my sister who lost her fight with leukemia on 22Apr01. She left behind two sons and a daughter.

Look for me to be adding another quad here soon. I do not know if I want to go i7 or not. Hoping for affordable six core processors soon. Most likely though I will be building another q6xxx or q9xxx soon, as I have another P35 board and 3GB lying around.

If you already have parts lying around it is hard not to just fill them up but an i7 920 clocked to 3.8 GHz will get about 30k WCG ppd biggrin and will also be able to *upgrade* to the i9 hexcore directly (new cpu and bios only) when they come out next year.

I do not want to purchase an x58 because I believe just like the x38 there will be something better released around the time of the hexcores. Personally I believe the P45 was/is a far superior motherboard, minus the options of an x48 board. If they can release an i7/i9 board capable of the price/performance ratios of the P45 I would be all over it.

Thinking about going QX9650 route as I know of a very cheap one I can get my hands on. That would mean with my watercooling setup I should easily attain 4.2-4.3Ghz quad core.

Got too good of a deal on a quad Phenom...it is a Phenom I and not the Phenom II which sucks but the Phenom II is dropping in price. I will move to the Phenom II probably by end of year. I mean you can't pass up a Phenom Quad and 790GX motherboard for under a hundred bucks. I will use it as a crunching HTPC for the living room or something.

Bump. We are still looking for members.

I am going to add a few more computers as my sister in law has now been diagnosed with liver, brain, lung, and spinal cancer. We have to rid the world of this scourge for our children.
