rose In Memory of Captain Google

Vincent Daniel Rooney, AKA Captain Google at Ukulele Underground forums, recently lost his battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He was 19. Despite his own personal struggles, he had an infectious, positive attitude about life, a great sense of humor, and a real passion for the ukulele.

Members of the Underground banded together to create a tribute using the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." Captain Google himself even makes an appearance at the end.

We are campaigning to take this video "viral" to celebrate Vincent's life, the joy of uke, and to raise awareness of MD. Hope you will watch and share the link.

Thank you for this reminder of one of the reasons why contributing our computer time is so important.

Deleted? Certainly not!
The "worst" which could happen to this thread if the WCG admins think it would be better is that it could be moved to the "Caring and Sharing" section which has been created for hosting such In Memoriam threads.

Personally I think it also has its place in this HCMD2 forum to help us never forget why we will have to contribute to this project for a long time.
Jean.

Humanity indeed has its place everywhere and it is quite valuable to keep it front and center as it reminds all what the fight is for. The fight is for our sons and the thankfully very few of our daughters who battle MD, Duchenne's in particular.

Take the rememberance exactly as it is intended. Don't argue needlessly about where the message belongs. Just receive the message and continue the fight. Indeed find the conviction to fight longer and harder so that neither myself nor other parents of Duchenne's boys find ourselves in the same position in the future. Time is NOT on our side...

I am so sorry. I missed that section when I posted. I can't seem to find a way to contact a mod/admin to request that it be moved.

Re: In Memory of Captain Google

Don't bother. The community advisors constantly monitor these forums. If they truly feel it needs to be moved, they will do so. I SERIOUSLY doubt they will since I do not believe it is wrong to be here.
