Congratulations JP for your score. I have still a very long way to go to reach your summits. But I do not despair in catching you one day In the mean time I am extremely HAPPY to announce that after months of suffering, torturing my poor machines, blood and tears (kiddin), I have now passed the symbolic 1'000 line. My last ranking today stands at 949 and counting. ![]() |

Hypernova, keep it lit.
I would feel embarrassed about bringing 60 or 70K Boinc (500K WCG) per day here. It would make 3 years effort look flimsy, but it would certainly buck the trend. Still, no point fuelling rumours (the cards are content elsewhere, for now). |

Still, no point fuelling rumours (the cards are content elsewhere, for now). I am not fuelling rumours, I am just reminding that things are not only in players' hands, the playfield can change too, and when I write I don't know (anything precise) I really mean "I don't know". WCG wishes to offer work for GPUs sometime, the Dr in Berkeley is working on a new crediting scheme, etc... so, my 7-month rough estimate is valid only for conditions as of today. ![]() |

Total Run Time: 6:233:21:40:25 (#6,369) I crossed below 10,000 (points) last October. Based on the chart I have been keeping since I joined (started at 284,303 place), I don't think that I will ever drop below 4,000th place with my current computing power. Points Generated: 3,829,902 (#6,873) Results Returned: 7,018 (#7,781) My advancement really slowed when 3 of my older computers gave up (for good) and dropped out of the race. I would have never joined the 4-digit club until I rebuilt my computer with a quad-core CPU.![]() |

skgiven, do not worrry. The day WCG adopts GPU crunching I will lit post-combustion on my system.
----------------------------------------JMBoullier is right. The playing field can change and probably will change. No: it has to change. Having much more crunching power available means also that we can at WCG address projects with an order of maginitude more precision or wider scope. Scientist if they are told that they would have access to a 10 times or a 100 times more power, that can change even their approach to new projects. So definitely, GPU computing must come to WCG, it is a race not for points but to help find in a shorter time solutions, new treatments, for major issues like cancer, aids etc. and give hope to all those who are suffering today. ![]() |

This morning, passed 10 years
---------------------------------------- Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 10:004:11:41:28 (#3,719) Points Generated (Rank) 6,641,670 (#3,532) Results Returned (Rank) 10,643 (#4,734) Sekrob said something in another post -having four badges change color at the same time "because I can"... I was thinking HFCC and HPF to Blue, HCMDD and HCC to Green. I'm intrigued by a one update Quad Ker-Bluie, that'd be fun- especially since I can't see getting another chance at a four color change any time soon ![]() Help Fight Childhood Cancer 1:350:17:28:06 (paused) Human Proteome Folding - 1:154:10:51:08 Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy - 0:317:04:00:34 Help Conquer Cancer 0:253:03:39:24 ![]() |
