I have been to the webpage of Launchpad.net and contributed to the translation of KBoincSpy. But there are no possibility too translate the BOINC client. Would it not be a good idea to translate the BOINC client also?
----------------------------------------Is this a task that the admins can take with them to Debian BOINC Maintainers? Just wondering...:) |

?
----------------------------------------Have you visited the BOINC Manager Options menu to select your language? A Norwegian interface is available in Bokmal and Nynorsk. (hmmm, it still shows in English) BOINC Developers are always looking for translators and maintainers of translations.

My settings are at Norsk Bokmål, but all the words in the client program are in English. So I don't see the point in the language selection for norwegian.
----------------------------------------At Launchpad they had the BOINC client also for development, but not with the option for translation. So I was just wondering why not. I have never used the KBOINCSpy, but I think there are more users with BOINC, and maybe understanding of english is lower for those users, then for the users of KBOINCSpy...... The bottom line is that I will gladly contributing in the translation of the BOINC client if it comes available...:) |

There is as it is 2 parts:
----------------------------------------1. The interface 2. The messages, a. generated by the client b. many sent from the website itself during client-server communication The program for contribution translations can be found here: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/TranslateIntro Looking forward to Bokmål :D thanks PS, I've found in past that some localization were broken, which then got fixed in later client versions. Certainly the BTS index shows 100% complete for your language of choice. https://boinc.berkeley.edu/translate/nb/

Norwegian was not a language of choice in Boinc client 6.8.x. Norwegian was not an option in any translation except Pootle. Do you know why?

Norwegian was not a language of choice in Boinc client 6.8.x. Norwegian was not an option in any translation except Pootle. Do you know why? Svært enkelt, ingen har tatt seg tid til å lage ein oversettelse til norsk enno, og fått denne inkludert med BOINC-klienten. Hvis du har tid til å gjere oversettelsen, så er det berre å sette i gang og få denne inkludert i ein seinare klient. This goes for any languages, if anyone has the time and can do the translations to any of the languages that is currently missing translations, either in BOINC-Manager or the web-pages, please go-ahead and register an account at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/TranslateIntro and start translating. ![]() You should also subscribe to the boinc_loc email-list, and if has any questions, ask them to this list. Not sure if WCG has something similar for translating their various web-pages... ![]() "I make so many mistakes. But then just think of all the mistakes I don't make, although I might." |
