Hello everybody,
I've just realized that i don't know how the total execution time for a whole project is calculated. I mean, my total execution time for a concrete project is easy to obtain, just taking into account the cpu (or natural) time i've spent in that project. But, in a whole project, there are lots of different pc's participating and, for example, it isn't the same 100 minutes of an AMD64 2 GHz than 100 minutes of a Pentium II 600 GHz (and 32 bits). I mean, does the calculation of the total execution time for a whole project take this into account or it is just calculated accordingly to the cpu (or natural) time spent by each computer? If it takes into account the differences beteween cpus, how is it normalized? Just being curious. Thanks. |

----------------------------------------Points are the normaliser. 1000 points of system X is the same as 1000 points by system Y, at WCG. If one system contributes 150 per hour and the other 75 you know the relative power. We know that 700,000 points equals 1 Teraflop. Each day WCG now runs at well over 300 Teraflops.
