Cost of crunching

It saddens me to report that due to my current financial situation I can no longer afford to keep my computers crunching.

Rest assured that I will continue to spread the word about WCG and that as soon as my situation improves I will be bringing my machines back online.

For the time being, farewell WCG.

Re: Cost of crunching

best wishes...

myself I am still holding on to crunching but it is getting costly for me and my budget as well... right now i am holding with my 4 computers but if gas prices go up again i might be forced to turn 1 or 2 computers off for a few months to make sure i make ends meet

as for now i am giveing up small things to allow me to keep crunching and doing other things i enjoy

Re: Cost of crunching

yes i can continue to keep crunching with my 3 remaining computers.... the northbridge went bad on my 4th computer and popped every capacitor on the motherboard , sound, and video card on that computer...

as of this time i still do not have enough spair cash lying around to replace this computer... but my 3 remaining computers are going strong still

sorry to see you go looks as if you were a big cruncher

I have a little farm in the bedroom upstairs that keeps the house

Re: Cost of crunching

It is for this reason i have built my 24h pc with phenom low wattage and 2,5 hd , 1 ram module and no dvd if not necessary.
The other 2 pc have the same components but they are not 24h and the dvd is on for them but one has a good graphic card to play....
The lowest wattage consumption for the 24h pc is about 110w

Re: Cost of crunching

Good news...I'm back! biggrin Have finished house move and got a better job so crunching can resume as normal.

Sadly I lost my Grandpa to cancer quite recently so will be comissioning a dual cpu (Opteron/Xeon, haven't decided yet) machine to run on cancer projects in his memory.

And finally thanks for all the messages, its great to be a part of such a supportive community

Keep on crunching!
