Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa / Soccer Football Thread

Yeah, good luck to Craig Moore. Hope the former Rangers and Newcastle defender can keep Germany's attack at bay.

England does not have a good goal keeper, their defence is too slow, they lack creativity and they will give away lots of free kicks and penalties. They can only progress to the latter stages if Gerrard keeps playing well and Roonie starts. Most of their players are over rated, as is the manager, who should have decided on a goalie and a back 4 long ago; in order to play them together for the last 3 games.

Apparently pulling shirts and handling the ball is not allowed. Perhaps nobody told this to Algeria and Serbia? Ghana knew!

As much as Craig More did well, the rest of the Oz team did not!
Germany looked up for it, and then eased off - ominously.
Some slow games but Holland looked OK, nothing special mind you. Japan, unexpected but well done – good luck with the rest of the tournament applause
Lets see if Italy can set the tournament alight - oh well!
Too many draws by attrition. Average goals per game? 1.
At least this way many teams will still be in with a shout come the final group games.

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa / Soccer Football Thread

Just finished: Brazil 2 X 1 North Korea

It was a horrible game. Brazil don't found its better football and appear be shine almost of time front of a very truncked NK team.

We believe that the cold weather at the time of the play influenced in bad way over all players, and could be one of the reasons for the both teams lack of creativity. maybe the nervosism of the start, could be other reaosn...

In Brazil just now, almost all Sport TV programs are talking that it was one of the worsts starts of Brazil team in WW Cups, despite of the victory...

I personally agree on that, once expected some good class football from our team, which don't hapenned !

Until now, the best football that I watched was from Germany team, and not for the four goals, but due the organization, sense of positining and creativity under a clear tatic schemme.

Hope that Brazil team change it behavior and present better football next time. sad coffee

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa / Soccer Football Thread

Brazil had difficult opposition. North Korea was well organised, committed and defended in numbers. That said Brazil was lucky; that first goal was a total fluke! Several games have been won, drawn or lost in lucky/unlucky ways.
Spain tomorrow smile

The first goal was an absolutely wonderful shot, threading the needle, but certainly made easier as the goalie had given up defending the inside post laughing

Re: 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa / Soccer Football Thread

Nk was very quicky to close very well the defense against Brazil attacks during almost all game, and just after NK be a little bit tired in the seond half (they ran a lot to close quick the defense many times) was that Brazil got the first real opportunity to make the goal (wich appear be more a launch that was desvieted by the strange path of this strange ball called jabulani... we never don't know the real true).

Both teams are very nervous during almost all game, and all time both temas abandonned the best styles to acomodate the security of not provoque a disaster and errors in the start of both teams.

Brazil don't play well against closed rivals, except in stop ball shoots.

Many Brazilians are very concerned about the team that the Brazilian coach called Dunga (nickname) choose for this WW Cup in Africa, so far many Brazilians are contraried about 7 or 8 players choose, once the best ones don't have chances due personal behaviors in the last times (case of 2 good defensers), due the personal familiar conflicts (case of Adriano, the best lineman last year), due the divergences about coach opinion which was a mediocre back coleague in the last WW Cup which Brazil lost (case of Roberto Carlos, the best Brazilian back in the left side), due the personal team preference and rivality of the Dunga coach and in this way the main enemy of him (case of Victor and Ronaldinho Gaucho, the best Brazilian goalkeeper and attacking midfielder/winger in the last decade which plays in the Gremio team and defines theyselfs as Gremistas from heart for the rest of they lifes, and in Brazil all people knows that The fantastic Gremio team was the main enemy of the mediocre Internacional team which was Dunga favourite and were he plays for years), due personal choice of coach and her personal revenge (case of Ronaldinho Gaucho and Ronaldo Fenomeno, the best players of World for 2 and 3 times respectively in the last years and which are playing a very exceptional football that bring smiles for all that watchs...but which was personally responsabilized by Dunga coach with bad words as part of responsables for Brazil lost the last WW Football cup...), and so on...

BTW, this guy nicknamed Dunga, was named as Brazilian coach after a lot of controverse 4 years ago, and he never study footbal, never act as coach in his life, was a mediocre back that have a lot of luck during his career, don't have any kind of preference inside the most of Brazilian people, was very hard critized during the last 4 years for his work, and his nomination was just political due his personal links with the actual Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) president. Despite of it, got some results as coach and remain this year but pass very closed to be fired at least 6 times in the last 2 years...

So, many realistic people in Brazil whioch love football and knows a little bit about it, just have realistics opinions about the real capacity of Brazilian team (please do not make mistake with the forever Brazilian hope of be ever the best football country...), once we know that we have a Brazilian team very limited, but with few talents (maybe 4) which could make the difference in this WW Cup (Robinho, Kaka, Elano, and I really have doubt about the last one... so, etc).

Anyway, the time will show us if this pessimist coments are really wrong (hope burn my tongue many times once I'm Brazilian... tongue ).

Have a nice night !

peace good luck coffee
