Installed Device Cleanup

Is there a way to

1) remove old devices from the list of installed devices?

2) to change the displayed name of the device in the list without changing the machine name -- in cases where the machine name has to be undescriptive?

1. Unfortunately not, but who knows will we get the merge facility in the future to consolidate several devices that were installed on the same computer. Until then, the devices do not show after 7-14 days of idle. You can still get the full history by changing the device manager filters.

2. You can suppress network information with a setting in the cc_config.xml. My devices here show with the ID that WCG assigned, such as 345968. This way, when I post message logs, the number is untraceable for anyone outside WCG.

No, it isn't possible. I have my doubts about it ever being possible here as people have been asking for this for YEARS.

Go get some sleep, else you'll wrinkle early. smile

For those not knowing, the sum of all devices when listing out the full device history should add to the numbers showing on the My Grid page, so unless merging is implemented, removing won't happen. Maybe for zero seconds / points devices as a number of members will have, those created in error. All mine, 21, have a score, so removing is no option imo to maintain integrity.

AND what happens to the old and locked UD devices after full conversion of points to credits... don't know.
