I'm still using BOINC 5.10.45 because I have never been able to update.
----------------------------------------I always receive the message as described here http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=119 The first solution, running Windows installer cleanup did not help. The next option is to do a repair of the installation, but for that I need the old installer file. I tried the one mentioned on the website, but that is a pure BOINC installer. I think I used a World Community grid installer, and I think I will need that installer to repair. Is there anyway someone can provide me with the 5.10.45 wcg installer? So I can try to do a repair and than update to the latest version? Thx [Edit 1 times, last edit by TKH at Jun 15, 2009 12:59:38 PM] |

from my understanding you dont need to do a repair. i believe that you can just install over the top of your old installation and is *should* keep all your old settings and registry settings.

Thx Just updated the Client Version History FAQ and added download links to the current and previous WCG installer versions, so they can also be reached when the My Grid page is closed for maintenance or statistics updating. Where available added the location of the boinc.msi for the different versions. Repair or Install-Over, the project data should remain in tact, though I've experienced a few times loosing them without a trace.

Unfortunatly, the link redirects to the latest version of the WCG client, and not to an older version.
Normally, reinstalling should work. But I receive an error 1714 (see link in my first post here) when trying to remove/reinstall/update boinc. |

Sekerob, thanks for the links!
With the provided installers, I was able to reinstall my old version, and then update to the latest wcg client :) ![]() |
