Its going to be close for the saphire badge, with 4 quads, a dual and thre singles. Almost 8 days of crunching with the queues maxed. Worth a try...at 1yr 206 days right now.

It's not badge hunting, it's power leveling...
got the green today, and holding out hopes for a blue before it's over. |

You know you are a badge hunter when .....
----------------------------------------As soon as I saw the end date move up I changed all my effort to this project. I got Emerald last night, Sapphire is too close to call at this point but I am making a run for it! The only thing that would really mess me up at this point would be a beta test. -Jasm

Do people realise that there are 365 CPU days in between the Emerald and Sapphire badges... I don't know as to how big the last batch that went into the hopper was, although methinks that someone, somewhere is going to be rather disappointed...

I don't know as to how big the last batch that went into the hopper was I believe it was suggested that it would take 10-12 days to finish off the last DDDT batch. I don't know if that takes into consideration the number of people who may have suddenly turned all their efforts to this project or whether those people are a small enough sample of the overall crunchers to make such an incident statistically insignificant. Either way, expect DDDT to be finished off and wound up before the end of this month and you won't be disappointed. Someone with 40+ cores crunching 24/7 might be able to make the leap from a recent Emerald to Sapphire in this time. Got to love those power crunchers eh? |

Do people realise that there are 365 CPU days in between the Emerald and Sapphire badges... My thoughts exactely! That's the reason I've decided to drop this project and give others the chance to grab the necessary few days for their next badge. In an ideal situation, for me it takes about 1 calendar month to process 1 CPU year. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 18, 2009 3:06:43 PM] |

I will let you know where I end up by the time the dust settles.

A/C is bugging out today, it's 115F (46C) outside today, and got the repair man coming this afternoon. Having to shut down the fleet for a bit.
pushing about 1 month per day right now on 40 cores, so emerald to sapphire seems very doable, just going to be close :) |

CEP is due to finish to very shortly and then Rice (according to Sek's charts). So if your trying to get the top badge those should be your next goal.

CEP is due to finish to very shortly Oh no - don't shout that too loudly just yet - as I haven't even reached Gold, never mind the lofty ambitions of Emerald or Sapphire... I'm just hoping that the current feeding frenzy for DDD-T (1), and any possibly Beta test for the new DDD-T (2), will allow me sufficient time to have contributed at least 90 CPU days' worth... As soon as I get there, I'll be leaving that project alone - as, if the project is due to end in October (or thereabouts), there's no chance of me progressing to even Ruby level... Those that are desperate for that top CEP badge and have the computing power to reach it, then they're more than welcome to have any spare WU's I may have left over... |
