Re: DDDT Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver & Gold?

Well...I would like HPF Phase 2 to be redone to closer match the 1st phase. That way it is more consistant with the numbered badges.

My understanding was the HPF and HPF2 are really different projects, conducted by different research groups, and that is why they have totally different badges. I might be incorrect though.

Re: DDDT Badge: Who will be first in Bronze, Silver & Gold?

I would prefer a completely different badge for each new project, irrespective of the science group, and I dont like the idea of using a number for the phase.
As others have suggested, a number could be used to represent the years crunched. So 2 to the power of 2 is 4 years. You could put a small 2 in the top right hand corner, then a 3 for 8 years and a 4 for 16 years...
Of course I am really just thinking about those that already have many blue badges.
The alternative, adding more colours, would eventually make it difficult to distinguish one badge from another. Orange from Red, Purple from Blue...
If people want to keep the number for phase 2... then you could have a bar going on the 4 sides to represent a power of 2, or darken a corner, ¬
It would get you to 32 years. Then you could change the colours or the bars, one by one. Another option could be to use different shapes, and just go through the colours again. Triangle, Circle, Hexagon...
I think this is better than just raising the bar, say making Bronze 45days, as it is more inclusive. Some people are happy just to get a Bronze.

To underline: Bars will NOT be raised for a number of reasons... higher level badges will be added some time next year. Don't know if this is going to be concomitant to the Call off Print it yourself Certificate that knreed was posting about few days ago, but planned they are, whether doubling or straight to much higher levels was not shared.

I hope they don't raise the bar. People are used to associating colors with particular # days, and to increase the # days for a given color would likely cause a lot of confusion.

I'm glad to see some activity in DDDT2. I'm up to 6 days and will eventually get a bronze....

Sorry, as things stand, you'll be very hard pressed to increase your participation in the original DDDT project - as that's currently set to 'Intermittent' status (i.e., it's 'there', just in case the scientists wish to run some more work through the first phase of the project). There may be some more work, but I certainly won't be holding my breath for it.

What you can do though, is to add to your tally for the second phase - DDDT2, of which, there is a recognition thread here -> DDDT2 Project Recognition Thread It's probably this, which you're already doing - although probably slowly, due to the nature of the project.

The project is 10 years inactive. It's kinda late in the game to inquire about it...
