Please keep raising the subject - it's good to know what features are most wanted.
But don't get frustrated if action takes a while. We have had to wait for many years for some features, and so far this conversion has only been planned for less than a year. Is it a big deal? To you it is, and that's all that matters. Is it urgent? Less urgent than some other things that need doing, anyway. |

I'm hoping this will get done soon.
----------------------------------------It is a shame to have a technical issue that it takes more than a year to start working on it ... and it still not even in the "concept phase". Lets do it and get done with it. It starts to sound like the Chinese water torture . |

Lets do it and get done with it. It starts to sound like the Chinese water torture . LOL! I don't think it's that bad. Kinda odd that no offical IBM statement has been made yet. However, 'tis the weekend. Didactylos, Is it a big deal? To you it is, and that's all that matters. To me? I think you meant several hundred thousand of us crunchers. Anyway, this subject will not go away until IBM says "Yes, we will have a conversion of these old UD points". I (all of us) did not ask for a specific date. Just a pledge (promise) that it will happen. It's that simple. As usual, we will all keep on crunching. ![]() |

Just a pledge (promise) that it will happen. It's that simple. Johnny, If it is all you want, you have already got it. Maybe several times but sure enough by knreed on March 11 there: Yet again, I ask this question ... I read there "this is something we definitely want to get done". Regarding the "several hundred thousand of us crunchers" which you think are worried by this question I think you are exaggerating by several hundred thousand minus a few tenths. First, most WCG crunchers don't worry that much about points or credits, next, a large majority are WCG only and it does not matter much for them if their scores are expressed in points or credits as long as the stats are exact and consistent, next again, all new crunchers have not known the WCG UD agent, so they have no such trouble. And last, we would like to have several hundred thousand active crunchers. Unfortunately it is only 103,288 members who have got credits over the last 30 days (according to BoincStats). Which is already an interesting progression: the last time I checked this number a few months ago it was about 85,000 if I remember well. Cheers. Jean. |

From what's left of the Grid.org site:
----------------------------------------posted 08May09 "Statistics data from the old grid.org cancer/anthrax/smallpox projects are not available online anymore and there are no current plans to bring them back. It's possible that some of that data might still be on some magnetic tapes that we have in permanent archive, but it's would be extremely labor-intensive to try to locate it and try to reinstall a database and server to make that data available. Sorry." I would imagine that if the WCG team were to try and suck any of this info in, they'd have to start by getting the data from these folks. It just doesn't look promising. Bummer... ![]() |

homeslice,
----------------------------------------not to confuse matters, we're talking the points earned with the UD agent that was also used at WCG until Q2-08, cocncurrent with the BOINC agent that started running here in Nov-2005 or there abouts. That conversion would give everyone/teams on the BOINC credit front that ran that agent a small to substantial ranking boost at places such as BOINCstats, from a global perspective.

Right. I ran it too.
----------------------------------------Here's the question that preceded the answer I posted above: "I ran the old UD agent for years, and made an account at worldcommunitygrid.org to use BOINC when the UD projects ended. Is there still any way to fetch my points/results totals from my old account here? When I tried logging on here with my old account info, it said there was no such member... so I had to create an account just to make this query as I did not find it covered in the FAQ. Thanks." or you can read it yourself if the following link comes through... http://groups.grid.org/content/fetch-pointsresults-ud-agent-database ![]() |

Think that if you create a forum sig at http://www.dcstat.com/ you can still get ahold of your final Grid.org score... entirely unsure, but some WCG members also have it included in there score rotation. There was also a thread in the chat room I think, where many refugees reported in their final grorg stats.
----------------------------------------If that's what you're interested in. Edit: Sure enough, when I tried oliviathefirst [alive and kicking], a well known Grid.org member, it got this: http://dcstat.com/preview.php?PHPSESSID=2unk5r5ndjnlekq0jv7hgfnj40
