general e-mails...?

Sometimes, and especialy this morning, I receiv that sort of messages in Boinc :

03/06/2009 09:56:25|World Community Grid|Scheduler request failed: Server returned nothing (no headers, no data)

I guess that there are some problems, or maintenance, or any sort of slowong down or issue. I know some wise advisor will tell me to be patient, and he or she will be completely right...

I just wonder if we could receive a general e-mail of alert in those cases, which would help us to be patient..? But maybe it would be too much work for our very busy advisors and techs ?

This is just a question, and in no case a complaint !

Thanks to all.

Re: general e-mails...?

This is more frequently caused by a temporary network issue on your end.

Re: general e-mails...?

A not so wise advisor would say "sod it, I'll detach before accepting any 'general' email for every network hickup".

Some sites maintain 'server is up' lists for all projects. This is one: http://www.esea.dk/esea/boincschedulers.php

You're not doing that bad smile

Btw that Webster page doesn't explain the expression sod it, this urban language dictionary does.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sod+it

Google is your friend biggrin
