Hello
How can i get more tasks in my stack : i.e. 2 are running and 2 are idle. If I go out of my office (with my powerbook) for a couple of days, I will no longer have tasks to run after half a day. |

You can get more tasks in your stack by going to your Device Manager and click on the Profile next to the computer you want to change it for and then scroll down and set the the Workunit Cache Settings and to the number of days you will need to keep it busy while you are away. I think the maximum is 10 days but you probably should only get 1 more day than you really need.

yes that will work for you geting work units you desire but remember not to get way too many
----------------------------------------one of the problems is if you get a few quick work units from the project BOINC thinks they will all be running that time so your 7 days of work may actualy end up being 14-40 days if you think your gona have the computer running for ~24-48 hrs then sure grab 48-72 hours of work but if your out of office time is going to be 8-10 days but your computer is only going to be running 8 hours a day if you grab 10 days of work you will still have ~6-7 days left when you return so there is alot of things to think about before downloading tons of work but yes it is great if you make sure you have enough buffer for a few days or so... also if you think you will have a chance to comunicate to BOINC and WCG during that out of office you can send those results up and help keep people out of PV waiting for there wingman ![]() |
